4X     - Special callsigns  4X70I,  4X70S,  4X70R, 4X70A,  4X70E, 4X70L  and
         4Z70IARC will be active from  19 April until 27 June  to  celebrate
         Israel's 70th anniversary. Logsearch and  electronic certificate on

9A     - Dusan, S52DG will be active holiday style  as  9A/S52DG/p from  Krk
         Island (EU-136) on 12-15 April. He will operate CW and SSB on 80-10

9A     - A team of eight (9A1MB, 9A2SC, 9A3DF, 9A3ST,  9A4WY,  9A5VS,  9A5YY
         and 9A6AA) will be active as 9A90P from Vela Palagruza (EU-090)  on
         16-23 June.  They will operate CW, SSB  and  digital modes on  80-6
         metres. QSL 9A90P via 9A2MF. They might also be active under  their
         home callsigns from the neighbouring islands of  Mala Palagruza and
         Galijula (both count for EU-090).
C5     - Pedro, ON7WP is active  again  as  C5WP  from  The Gambia  until 13
         April. He plans to focus on FT8 in  his spare time.  QSL via ON7WP,

CY9    - "After considerable analysis  and discussions as  to  expected band
         conditions", the  1-9 August  CY9C  DXpedition  to  St. Paul Island
         [425DXN 1377] has been cancelled. The team looks foward to a future
         effort "when conditions significantly improve". [TNX DX World]
E5     - Oleh, KD7WPJ (UR5BCP) will  be  active  as  E51BCP  from  Rarotonga
         (OC-013),  South Cook Islands  on 15-20 April.  He will operate CW,
         SSB, digital modes and FM on 40-6 metres.  He also plans some  SOTA

EA8    - Mike, DG5LAC will  be  active  as  EA8/DG5LAC  from  Fuerteventura,
         Canary Islands (AF-004) on 14-28 April.  He will operate  SSB,  FT8
         and CW.  QSL via  Club Log's OQRS, or  via home call (bureau). [TNX

FP     - Once again  Eric, KV1J will  be  active as  FP/KV1J  from  Miquelon
         Island (NA-032) on 3-17 July, including activity  during the  DL-DX
         RTTY  Contest  and  the  IARU HF World Championship.  Plans are  to
         operate mainly  SSB and RTTY with some CW and FT8 on  80-10 metres,
         "generally on the highest  frequency  band open".  He will also "be
         checking 6m for indications  of openings".  Activity on  160 metres
         will  depend  on  antenna layout. QSL via home call, LoTW and eQSL.

HB0    - The PI4RAZ Radio Club  will  conduct  their  annual  expedition  to
         Liechtenstein  on 7-14 April.   Look  for  HB0/PA2HGJ,  HB0/PA2RDK,
         HB0/PA3CNO, HB0/PA3DFR, HB0/PE0MGB and  HB0/PE1FLO to be  active on
         160-10 metres mainly  CW with  some SSB and  digital modes. QSL via

I      - Italian stations participating in this year's International Marconi
         Day  (21 April)  include  IY0GA  (from Sardinia),  IY0IMD,  IY0ORP,
         IY0TC, IY1MR, IY1SM, IY1SP, IY4FGM, IY5PIS, IY6GM and IY7M. QSL via

I      - Look   for  Alessandro  IB0/IK4ALM,   Roberto  IB0/IK4JPN,  Augusto
         IB0/IK4RQJ, Vanni IB0/IK4RUX and Carlo IB0/IZ4WJA to be active from
         Ponza Island (EU-045) on 23-28 May.  They will operate SSB, CW  and
         digital  modes on the  HF bands  and 6 metres.  QSL via home calls,

I      - Vincenzo, IK7IMO  will be active  as  IJ7V  from  San Pietro Island
         (EU-073) on 28-29 July for the IOTA Contest. QSL via IK7IMO, direct
         or bureau.
JD1_oga- Once again Harry, JG7PSJ will be active  as JD1BMH from  Chichijima
         (AS-031), Ogasawara from 29 April to 4 May. He will operate CW, SSB
         and RTTY on 40-10m. QSL via  JD1BMH (bureau)  or  JG7PSJ  (direct).

OE     - Austrian special  event  station  OE18M  will be  active  on  20-22
         April. This is an official International Marconi  Day  station  and
         contacts made on 21 April will count for the  IMD  Award.  QSL  via
         OE1WHC (bureau) or direct to DokuFunk, OE18M, An  den  Steinfeldern
         4A, 1230 Wien, Austria.
OZ     - Special callsign 5P0WARD will be active on 18 April in  celebration
         of  the  93rd  World Amateur Radio Day.  A special  award  will  be
         available for  working  5P0WARD/xx stations  with different  suffix

PY     - Look for PY2LCD/p (SSB and FT8) and PY2DX/p (CW) to be active  from
         Ilha Comprida (SA-024) on 7-8 April.  They  will  be QRV  on  80-10

PY     - PU4ALZ, PY2VTC and PY2ZA  will  be  active  as  PS1S  from  Ilha de
         Santana (SA-077)  on  26-30 July,  including an entry  in the  IOTA
         Contest. They will operate CW, SSB and digital  modes  (RTTY, PSK31
         and FT8) on 80-10 metres. All QSOs will be confirmed  automatically
         via the bureau; logsearch on Club Log.
S9     - David, EB7DX will be active  holiday  style as S9ZZ  from  Sao Tome
         Island (AF-023)  on  1-9 June.  He will operate SSB, RTTY, FT8  and
         some CW on 40-6 metres. QSL direct to home call;  logsearch on Club
         Log and OQRS on http://eb7dx.com/oqrs/.
SM     - Look for SA6G/7 to be active  from  Ven  Island  (EU-137)  on  5-12
         June.  He will operate  mainly CW  on 40-6 metres.  QSL via SM6CUK,

SV     - Once again Laci, HA0HW will be active as SW8WW from Thassos  Island
         (EU-174) from 24 May to 5 June, possibly including an  entry in the
         CQ WW WPX CW Contest.  He will operate mainly CW, with some SSB and
         RTTY/PSK, on 40-6 metres. QSL  via  Club Log's  OQRS, or  via HA0HW

T2     - 14-21 April are the new tentative dates  for  T2AR's activity  from
         Tuvalu (OC-015) [425DXN 1402]. In his spare time Tony will  operate
         SSB, CW, RTTY, JT65 and FT8  on 160-6 metres.  QSL direct to 3D2AG;
         PayPal  instructions  on https://www.qrz.com/db/3d2ag.  He does not
         use LoTW or Club Log.
T32    - Ken, KH6QJ will be active again as T32AZ from Kiritimati (Christmas
         Island,  OC-024),  East  Kiribati  on  17-24 April.  QSL via KH6QJ,

T8     - Ichy, JH7IPR will be active  again  as T88UW  from  Koror (OC-009),
         Palau on 13-19 April.  He  will operate CW, SSB  and digital  modes
         (RTTY, FT8, JT9, JT65) on  160-6 metres.  QSL via  Club Log's OQRS,
         LoTW or via home call (direct or bureau).
V6     - Sho, JA7HMZ will be active again  as V63DX  from  Pohnpei (OC-010),
         Micronesia on 18-24 April.  He will focus on working Europe on  160
         metres FT8. QSL via LoTW or direct to JA7HMZ. [TNX NG3K]
VK9    - Michael, DF8AN  will  be  active  as  VK9XQ  from  Christmas Island
         (OC-002) on 3-6 November  and again  10-17 November, and  as  VK9CH
         from the  Cocos (Keeling) Islands (OC-003) on  6-10 November.  From
         both locations he will  operate mainly  CW, RTTY and  other digital
         modes on 160-6 metres. QSL via DF8AN, direct or bureau, or eQSL. He
         does not use LoTW.
W      - Members  of  the  Thomasville  Amateur Radio Club (W4UCJ)  will  be
         active as W4P from St. George Island (NA-085) between 12 UTC on  14
         April until  2 UTC on 15 April.  They will be running at least  two
         stations "and swapping between bands and modes as needed".  QSL via
         operator's instructions.
YB     - Adhi YB3MM, Hen YB3LZ and maybe others  will be active  as  YB3MM/8
         and YB3LZ/8 from Tinabo, one of the  Taka Bonerate Islands (OC-242)
         between 28 April and 1 May, and from Salayar Island (OC-236) on 1-2
         May. They will be QRV on 15-40 metres with  two low power stations;
         their time  on  the air will  depend  on the permit  from the  Taka
         Bonerate National Park officers.  The operations will be  available
         for Club Log Matching  on the IOTA website;  if needed,  paper QSLs
         should be requested via Club Log's OQRS. [TNX YB3MM]

DXCC YEARBOOK ---> The 2017 ARRL DXCC Yearbook, which includes  the  Clinton
B. DeSoto Challenge  top scorers  and the  Annual Listing, can be  found  at
http://www.arrl.org/files/file/DXCC/DXC ... 202017.pdf.
The Annual Listing of DXCC membership contains the call signs  and  credited
totals for new awards and endorsements during the calendar year period  from
1 January through 31 December 2017. The DXCC Honor Roll includes  those  who
are within 9 entities of the "current"  Entity count for Mixed,  Phone,  CW,
and  Digital modes.  As of 31 December 2017, there were 339 Entities on  the
DXCC List, and entry level DXCC Honor Roll was achieved at level 330.

FT8 DXPEDITION MODE: SECOND PUBLIC TEST ---> The  second public  test of FT8
DXpedition mode will  be conducted  on  7 April (14-16 UTC), and  all  radio
amateurs  are  invited  to  participate.  The goal is  to simulate  a  rare-
DXpedition pileup by having many  stations ("Hounds") calling and trying  to
work a designated pseudo-DXpedition station ("Fox").
Everyone participating in the test MUST USE the  latest  "release candidate"
version of WSJT-X (v1.9.0-rc3).  Installation  packages for  Windows, Linux,
Macintosh and Raspian Jessie are available on
http://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/wsjtx.html.
In addition, participants in the test MUST READ the latest revision  of  the
"FT8 DXpedition  Mode User Guide" (dated 28 March), which  includes  changes
and updates from previous editions:

HST ---> The 15th IARU HST (High Speed Telegraphy)  World Championship  will
be held  in Astana, the  capital  city of Kazakhstan,  on 25-29 August.  See

INTERNATIONAL MARCONI DAY ---> Organized by the Cornish Radio Amateur  Club,
the International Marconi Day (IMD) is a 24-hour amateur  radio  event  held
annually to celebrate the birth of Guglielmo Marconi (25 April 1874). It  is
not a contest, but an opportunity for amateurs  around  the  world  to  make
contacts with historic Marconi sites  using  HF  communications  techniques.
This year's event will be held  on 21 April, from  00.00  UTC  to 23.59 UTC.
Details, including information on the Award Certificates and the listing  of

LOTW & WAZ AWARD ---> Logbook of The World  support for CQ  Worked All Zones
(WAZ) Award programme went live  on  2 April at 14 UTC.  Participants in the
WAZ award will now be able to use their  LoTW confirmations for  WAZ credit.
Standard LoTW credit fees and separate CQ award fees will apply.

NCDXF NEWSLETTER ---> The Northern California DX  Foundation's  Spring  2018
Newsletter is now available  at  http://www.ncdxf.org/pages/newsletter.html.
It contains  articles  on VK9MA (Mellish Reef, November 2017), 3C1L and 3C0L
(Equatorial Guinea and Annobon, October 2017), 9U4M (Burundi, November 2017)
and S21ZZE & S21ZED (Bangladesh, March 2017).

QSL VP5P ---> Bob, N2OO is the new QSL Manager for the March 2017 and  March
