Established on 25 May 1981, GCC is a regional intergovernmental political and economic union that con- sists of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. "There is a small chance they may try activate the neigh- bouring Treshnish Islands (EU-108) for a few hours, but this will depend on weather, and will very much be a decision made on the day (possibly 28 May)". [TNX DX World] GM - Dan, F5DBT plans to be active as MM/F5DBT from several islands off the west coast of Scotland between 28 May and 15 June. H4 - Originally scheduled for March 2024 [425DXN 1668], the H44WA DXpedition to the Solomon Islands has been brought forward to 15-29 November 2023. Five operators (N7JP, N7QT, N9ADG, NU7J and WA7CPA) will be active on 160-10 metres CW, SSB and FT8 (F/H). He will pay special attention to 6m. The QSOs will be made available for Club Log and LoTW Matching on the IOTA website. JA - Ichy, JH7IPR will be active from Ishigaki Island and Iriomote Island (both count for IOTA group AS-024) on 24-28 May. He will be signing JH7IPR/6 (CW, RTTY, SSB, AM) and JH7IPR/p (FT4, FT8 and other digital modes). QSL via Club Log and LoTW. KH8S - Originally scheduled for March 2020 and postponed repeatedly, the W8S DXpedition to Swains Island (OC-200) is now set to take place on 4-17 October. The team (DJ9RR, DL2AMD, DL6JGN, KO8SCA, NG7M, PA2KW, PA3EWP, PA4WM, PA5X and PG5M) will operate CW, SSB, FT8 and RTTY on all bands with six stations from two operating sites. "Due to Covid and the global economic situation, our costs have in- creased considerably compared to 2020", PA3EWP says. KP4 - Manuel,WP4TZ will be active from Vieques Island (NA-249) on 23-30 May. He will be QRV on 40-6 metres from parks, summits and beaches for the POTA, SOTA and BOTA programmes. QSLs via home calls, LoTW, and Club Log. [TNX DL2VFR] OK - The private company Radiojournal began regular radio broadcasts in Czechoslovakia on 18 May 1923. OL100RADIO, OL100RJ, OL23RADIO and OL23RJ are the special callsigns for the Czech Radio Club to mark "100 years of broadcasting in OK-land". Look for activity on all bands and modes from 18 May to 18 June. A certificate will be available, see qrz.com under any of the special callsigns for information. P4 - John, W2GD will be active as P40W from Aruba (SA-036) on 23-30 May. [TNX NG3K] YU - The Amateur Radio Union of Serbia (YU1SRS) will host the 26th IARU Region 1 General Conference, to be held at Zlatibor on 1-4 Novem- ber. He was working on one of the contest station's towers when it unexpectedly buckled, and Ben, "who was attached with a safety belt, was left hanging in the air. They cut the cables and brought him to the ground and performed cardio- pulmonary resuscitation. Police and ambulance were called out but in vain.
