5U     - 5UA99WS' departure  from Niger [425DXN 1669]  has been brought for-
         ward,  and he is now scheduled  to leave the country on 1 June.  In
         his spare time Giorgio  operates FT8, FT4 and SSB on  40-10 metres.
         QSL via LoTW, or via EA5GL.
A9     - A91GCC is the special callsign for the  Bahrain Amateur Radio Soci-
         ety to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of the Gulf Cooperation Coun-
         cil on 19-25 May. QSL via EC6DX. Established on 25 May 1981, GCC is
         a regional intergovernmental political and economic union that con-
         sists of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia  and the United
         Arab Emirates.
C6     - Look for KN4NTX to be active as C6AWA from Bimini (NA-048), Bahamas
         on 26-28 May.  He will operate CW only, and will participate in the
         CQ WW WPX CW Contest. QSL direct to home call. [TNX The Daily DX]
GM     - Col, MM0NDX and Jonathan, MM0OKG will be active as  MS0INT from the
         Isle of Tiree (EU-008) on 26-29 May. They will be QRV on 17-6m. QSL
         via LoTW. "There is a small chance they may try activate the neigh-
         bouring Treshnish Islands (EU-108)  for a few hours,  but this will
         depend on weather, and will very much be a decision made on the day
         (possibly 28 May)". [TNX DX World]
GM     - Dan, F5DBT plans to be active as MM/F5DBT from  several islands off
         the west coast of  Scotland between  28 May  and  15 June.  He will
         operate SSB, FT8 and FT4 on 40, 20, 15 and 10 metres. QSL via LoTW,
         eQSL, or direct to home call.
H4     - Originally  scheduled  for  March 2024  [425DXN  1668],  the  H44WA
         DXpedition to the Solomon Islands has been brought forward to 15-29
         November 2023.  Five operators (N7JP, N7QT, N9ADG, NU7J and WA7CPA)
         will be  active  on  160-10 metres  CW, SSB and FT8 (F/H).  QSL via
         M0URX's OQRS; there will be no full log upload to LoTW,  and bureau

I      - As of 18 May, the list of  special callsigns celebrating the cente-

         The activity is organized by the Associazione Radioamatori Italiani
         (ARI) in collaboration with the Air Force General Staff; each call-
         sign represents a place that  had or still has  significant  impor-
         tance in the  ITAAF history.  A certificate will be available;  see

I      - Look for  Lorenzo, IB0/IZ0BVU  and  Dario, IB0/IW0RLC  to be active
         from Ventotene Island (EU-045) on 25-28 May. They will operate SSB,
         FT8, FT4 and RTTY on  40, 20, 15, 10  and  6 metres  (maybe also on
         80m). QSL via home calls and LoTW.
JA     - Take, JI3DST  will be active from Shodo Island (AS-200) from 23 May
         to 5 July. He will operate SSB and CW as JJ5RBH (including partici-
         pation  in  the  CQ WW  WPX  CW  Contest)  JI3DST/5,  JS6RRR/5  and
         JR8YLY/5, as well as  JI3DST/p,  JS6RRR/p  and JR8YLY/p on FT8.  He
         will pay  special attention to 6m.  The QSOs will be made available
         for Club Log and  LoTW Matching on the IOTA website.
JA     - Ichy, JH7IPR  will be  active  from  Ishigaki Island  and  Iriomote
         Island (both count for IOTA group AS-024) on 24-28 May.  He will be
         signing JH7IPR/6  (CW, RTTY, SSB, AM)  and  JH7IPR/p  (FT4, FT8 and
         other digital modes). QSL via Club Log and LoTW.
KH8S   - Originally scheduled for March 2020 and  postponed repeatedly,  the
         W8S DXpedition to  Swains Island (OC-200) is now set  to take place
         on 4-17 October. The team (DJ9RR,  DL2AMD,  DL6JGN,  KO8SCA,  NG7M,
         PA2KW, PA3EWP, PA4WM, PA5X and PG5M)  will operate CW, SSB, FT8 and
         RTTY on all bands with six stations from two operating sites.  "Due
         to Covid  and  the  global economic situation,  our costs  have in-
         creased considerably compared to 2020", PA3EWP says. The total cost
         has increased to  EUR 125,000,  and  donations  will  be gratefully

KP4    - Manuel,WP4TZ will be active from  Vieques Island (NA-249) on  23-30
         May.  He will be QRV on 40-6 metres from parks, summits and beaches
         for the  POTA, SOTA and BOTA  programmes.  QSL via LoTW  and  eQSL.

LA     - Ric, DL2VFR  and  Fred, DL4BBH  will  be  active as  LA/DL2VFR  and
         LA/DL4BBH from IOTA group EU-061 and the  Ytre Hvaler National Park
         on 2-6 June.  They will operate  CW and SSB.  QSLs via  home calls,

OK     - The private company Radiojournal  began regular radio broadcasts in
         Czechoslovakia on 18 May 1923.  OL100RADIO, OL100RJ, OL23RADIO  and
         OL23RJ are the special callsigns for the  Czech Radio Club  to mark
         "100 years of broadcasting in OK-land".  Look  for activity  on all
         bands and modes  from  18 May  to  18 June.  A certificate  will be
         available,  see qrz.com  under  any  of the  special callsigns  for
         information.
P4     - John, W2GD will be active as P40W from Aruba (SA-036) on 23-30 May.
         Main activity will be  during the  CQ WW WPX CW Contest,  with some
         spare time operations on 30, 17 and 12 metres  outside the contest.
         QSL via LoTW, or direct to N2MM.
SM     - Ric, DL2VFR and Fred, DL4BBH will be active as either SM6/DL2VFR or
         SD7V/6 (if his licence is renewed) and SM6/DL4BBH from Orust Island
         (EU-043) on 31 May-2 June.  They will operate CW and SSB.  QSLs via
         home calls, LoTW, and Club Log. [TNX DL2VFR]
V4     - Once again John, W5JON will be active as V47JA from  St. Kitts (NA-
         104) from 23 May to 7 June.  He will operate SSB and FT8  on the HF
         bands and especially 6m.  QSL via LoTW,  or direct only to W5JON.
VP2M   - K2DM, George will be active as VP2MDM from Montserrat on 25-29 May.
         He will operate FT8 and SSB on the HF bands and 6 metres,  and will
         participate in the CQ WW WPX CW Contest. QSL via LoTW, or direct to

VP5    - John, K4BAI will be active as VP5/K4BAI  from  Providenciales  (NA-
         002),  Turks & Caicos Islands  on  23-30 May.  QSL via  home  call.
         Along with other operators, he will participate in the CQ WW WPX CW
         Contest as VP5M (QSL direct to K4QPL). [TNX The Daily DX]
VP9    - Darrell, AB2E will be active as AB2E/VP9 from  Bermuda (NA-005)  on
         24-29 May.  Main activity will be during the  CQ WW WPX CW Contest;
         before and after  the contest he will operate  CW, SSB, and FT8  on
         160-10m, with focus on the WARC bands.  QSL via LotW,  or direct to
         home call.
TF     - Chris, DL1MGB will be active as  TF/DL1MGB  from Iceland  on  26-29
         May.  Main activity will be on 80-10 metres during the CQ WW WPX CW
         Contest. QSL via home call. [TNX NG3K]
YU     -  The Amateur Radio Union of Serbia (YU1SRS) will host the 26th IARU
          Region 1 General Conference, to be held at Zlatibor on  1-4 Novem-
          ber.  A special callsign has been issued,  YT26IARU,  which may be
          operated until 31 December  by the hosting society  as well as  by
          the conference amateur radio station. QSL via LoTW.

CARIBBEAN TOUR ---> Bob K4UEE, Rob K5PI, Bill W5SJ and Madison W5MJ  will be
active from Antigua (NA-100) on 23-28 May,  including a M/S HP entry  in the
CQ WW WPX CW Contest,  and from  Montserrat (NA-103)  on 29 May-4 June.  The
callsigns will be V26RC and VP2MUE (for K4UEE), V26GB and VP2MKP (for K5PI),
V26MJ and VP2MMJ (for W5MJ), V26BP and VP2MSJ (for W5SJ). [TNX The Daily DX]

QSL VIA M0OXO ---> On 15 May 4438  3Y0J cards  were mailed to  83 countries,
Charles reports. You can still request QSLs via OQRS (https://www.m0oxo.com)
or direct post mail, but "time is approaching for my vacation", he says. "If
you require  any direct mailed  cards,  I would suggest requesting them very
soon.  My last mailing will be May 30th.  Although log updates, missing call
enquiries and emails will receive a reply, no cards will be issued in June".

+ SILENT KEY + Bernhard "Ben" Buettner, DL6RAI (P44X)  lost his life  on  18
May in a tragic accident while doing maintenance at his QTH in Aruba. He was
working on one of the contest station's towers when it unexpectedly buckled,
and Ben,  "who was attached with a safety belt, was left hanging in the air.
They cut the cables  and brought him  to the ground  and  performed  cardio-
pulmonary resuscitation.  Police and ambulance were called out  but in vain.
A doctor pronounced Ben dead shortly afterwards", Jacobo, P43P reports.
