4X - Special event station 4X0VK will be active from the historic rail-
way station in Zemach (Samakh) on 14-15 October. The suffix honours
the Australian Light Horse brigade that fought in that area during
World War I. QSL via 4X6ZM.
5V - After their TY0RU operation from Benin (14-26 October), the Russian
DXpedition Team will be active as 5V7RU from Togo from 28 October
to 11 November. Six operators (R5EC, R7AL, R9LR, RA1ZZ, RW8A and
RW9JZ) will be QRV on 160-6m and the QO-100 satellite, CW, SSB and
FT8 with several stations and a wide range of antennas. QSL via

DL - Volker, DL1WH will be active holiday style as DL1WH/p from Sylt
Island (EU-042) on 15-28 October. He will operate mainly CW, with

EA - Commemorating the centenary of Radio Club de Espana, whose action
was instrumental in lobbying for the introduction of radio regula-
tions in Spain, special callsign AM100RCE will be active on 10-16
October. QSL via EA4URE.
FG - Once again Philippe, F1DUZ will be active as FG4KH from Guadeloupe
(NA-102) from 17 October to 2 November, including participation in
the CQ WW DX SSB Contest. QSL via LoTW, eQSL, or via F1DUZ.
FJ - Previously active as FJ/K2LIO, Phil will be back to St. Barthelemy
(NA-146) in mid-October and be QRV with his newly issued callsign,
FJ4WEB. Look for him on 40, 20, 15 and 10m in the local morning and
late afternoon hours. QSL via eQSL, or direct to K2LIO.
GD - Look for Steve GM2TT, Barry GM5BDX and Billy GM6DX to be active as
GD2TT, GD5BDX and GD6DX, respectively, from the Scarlett Point
station on the Isle of Man (EU-116) on 7-10 October. They will
operate CW, SSB and digital modes. QSLs via LoTW; the logs will be
uploaded also to Club Log.
HL - In conjunction of the 103rd edition of the Korean National Sports
Festival to be hosted by the city of Ulsan, members of the local
branch of KARL (HL0UHQ) will be active as HL22NSF on 4-31 October.

I - Members of ARI Torino (IQ1TO) will be active as IY1TO and II1TRM on
16 October, during a reenactment of the successful experiments in
wireless communication between a free-flight balloon and the ground
conducted in 1908 by Lieutenant C. J. Aston, Royal Engineers. QSLs

JA - Look for JE1HXZ/6 to be active from Kakeromajima, Amami Islands
(AS-023) on 7-16 October. He will operate CW, SSB, RTTY, FT8 and
FT4 on 160-6 metres. QSL via the bureau and LoTW.
S7 - Dieter, DL5RDO has been active holiday style as S79/DL5RDO from La
Digue (AF-024), Seychelles since 1 October, and will remain there
until 15 October. He operates mainly CW on 40-10 metres. QSL via
LoTW, or via home call.
SP - Celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Polish Amateur Radio
Union's Lublin Territorial Branch (OT-20), look for SP65PLU,
SN65PLU and SQ65PLU, as well as SP8PAI, SP8PLU and SP8TK, to be
active from 1 October until 31 December. A certificate will be

TK - Patrick, TK4TN will be active as TK3T from Cavallo Island (EU-164)
on 10 October. He will run 20-50 watts on 40, 20 and 17 metres SSB,

W - Tom, KM4VI will be active holiday style from Dauphin Island (NA-
213) on 13-15 October. He will operate SSB on the HF bands. QSL via

YB - YB9GWR/p, YB9HF/p, YB9IPY/p, YB9JAJ/p, YD9GBU/p and YD9GBX/p will
be active from Sumbawa Island (OC-150) on 13-16 October. They will
operate SSB and FT8 on 160, 40, 20, 15 and 10m. QSL via operators'

CY0S ---> "A lot of DXers have inquired about Sable Island after Hurricane
Fiona made an almost direct hit on the island", the CY0S team posted to the
DXpedition's website on 5 October. "Hurricane Fiona had the lowest baromet-
ric pressure (931 mb.) ever recorded in Canada during any previous hurri-
cane. Fortunately, the news is better than expected on Sable Island. Parks
Canada personnel on the island report some of the buildings lost sections of
siding and some roof damage. The Parks Canada personnel described the damage
as superficial. The NavCan METAR (Meteorological Terminal Air Report) system
was inoperative for 5-6 days until technicians could travel to the island to
restore the system. The hurricane caused some erosion and reshaped part of
the island. A researcher who has been on the island for almost 50 years
reported it was the worst storm she has ever experienced on the island".
