4L     - Luc, F5RAV will be active as either 4L/F5RAV and/or 4L0GF from Zeda
         Tkhilnari, Georgia between 26 March and 2 April, including an entry
         in the CQ WW WPX SSB Contest. QSL direct to home call. [TNX F8REF]
6W     - Jean-Louis, F5NHJ (https://www.f5nhj.fr/) is QRV again as 6W7/F5NHJ
         from near Saly, on the Petite Cote of Senegal, from 25 February  to
         13 March. He operates mainly FT8. QSL via Club Log's OQRS and LoTW.
6Y     - Kasimir, DL2SBY will be active as 6Y5KB from Jamaica (NA-097)  from
         28 March  to  10 April.  He  plans  to operate  CW,  SSB,  FT8  and
         possibly RTTY on 80-6 metres. QSL via LoTW, or direct only to  home

9A     - 9A62AA is the  special callsign that  Tom, 9A2AA is using until the
         the end of the year to mark his 62nd year in amateur radio. QSL via

9G     - 4X5ZS, 4Z1SH, 4Z1ZV, 4Z4DX and  9G5AF (4Z9BDD)  will be  active  as
         9G2DX from Ghana on 9-20 March. They will operate CW, SSB, FT8  and
         RTTY on 160-10 metres (see qrz.com for  their planned frequencies).
         Their main site will be at a beach  "ideal for low band operations"
         near the capital city of Accra,  but they will be QRV also from two
         Flora & Fauna sites (namely the Shai Hills Resource Reserve and the
         Kakum  National  Park).   QSL via  M0OXO's  OQRS,  LoTW  and  eQSL;
         logsearch on Club Log.
9M2    - The Malaysian DX and Contest Group will be active on  various bands
         and modes as 9M19TEA from the  Cameron Highlands, West Malaysia  on
         28-30 March. QSL via Club Log's OQRS.
G      - Organised by the  Radio Society of Great Britain,  an International
         Amateur Radio Marathon will run from  30 May to 14 July during  the
         Cricket World Cup  to be  held  in England  and  Wales.  Thirty-one
         special callsigns with the prefix GB19 will be activated  from  the
         United Kingdom  (11 representing  the venues,  10 representing  the
         competing teams, and 10 Cricket HQ stations):
         England           GB19AFG, GB19AUS, GB19BAN, GB19BG, GB19CWC,
                           GB19EB, GB19ENG, GB19HL, GB19IND, GB19KO, GB19LL,

         Each special callsign has its own  qrz.com page,  with the schedule
         showing when the callsign will be used. QSL via LoTW only (no paper
         QSL cards).  A series  of award certificates  will be offered,  and
         participants  will be  able to  track their  progress  towards  the
         available awards  on  https://cricket2019.hamlogs.net/.  Also check

KL     - Cezar, VE3LYC  will be active  as  VE3LYC/KL7  from  Little Diomede
         Island (NA-150) on 18-26 March.  Plans are to operate CW and SSB on
         40-17 metres  for  3-4 days  from the village  (which will offer an
         unobstructed  path to  Africa, Asia, Europe  and Oceania),  and for
         another 2-3 days from the northeastern corner of the island,  which
         will provide an open path to North and South America.  QSL via Club
         Log's OQRS, or via home call  (direct or bureau).  More information

LU     - Celebrating Radio Club QRM Belgrano's 51th anniversary, LU4AAO will
         be active on 1-3 March on various bands and modes. QSL via eQSL, or
         email lu4aao(@)gmail.com for a  printable digital QSL;  paper cards

OH     - OH8JK, OH8MWD, OH8NR and OH8ZZ will be active as OH8AA from Kataja/
         Inakari Island (EU-192) on 1-5 March. They will operate SSB and FT8
         on the HF bands. QSL via OH8JK.
PJ2    - Andy, DK5ON will be active again as PJ2/DK5ON from Curacao (SA-099)
         on  14-30 March.  He will operate  CW, SSB, RTTY  and FT8  on  80-6
         metres.  QSL via LoTW, Club Log's OQRS, or via home call (direct or

SM     - Bodo, DF8DX is planning  "some activity"  as  SM0/DF8DX  from  IOTA
         group EU-084 on  5-7 March.  QSL via home call  (direct or bureau),
         Club Log's OQRS or via LoTW.
TI     - TI7/AE0EE, TI7/K0BBC and TI7/W6PNG are active from Costa Rica until
         5 March,  including  participation  in the  ARRL DX SSB Contest  as
         TI7/W6PNG.  They operate CW, FT8 and SSB on 160-10 metres.  QSL via
         LoTW, or via home calls. [TNX The Daily DX
VK     - Owing  to circumstances  beyond his  control,  Vlad, ER1OO  will be
         unable to participate  in the April IOTA DXpedition  to the Houtman
         Abrolhos (OC-211) and Favorite Island (OC-183) [425DXN 1449].  This
         will be a  solo operation  by  Andy, VK5MAV.  He plans to be QRV as
         VK5MAV/6 from OC-211 on 14 April in his evening  (local time is UTC
         +8) and to return to the mainland on the 17th or 18th. Actual dates
         for OC-183 are still "a bit uncertain" because of  Easter holidays,
         but he will have to return  to  the mainland on 22 April.  Bookmark

VK0/M  - Norbert, VK5MQ has been QRV as VK0AI from Macquarie Island (AN-005)
         since late April 2018, and expects to go QRT sometime in March.  He
         has operated mainly FT8 so far, but during his last couple of weeks
         on the air he will "start on SSB on  14.195,  listening 14.210  and
         7.050 MHz  in  his afternoons  after work.  If he does not  get any
         responses he will  go back  to FT8".  Macquarie Island is  11 hours
         ahead of UTC.  QSL via LoTW, eQSL, or via VK5MQ (direct or bureau).

Z8     - Ken, K4ZW might be active as  Z81Z from  Juba, South Sudan  on  4-6
         March.  "If he is able  to get  on the air, operation  will be very
         limited in time due to work schedules and tight travel restrictions

ARRL INTERNATIONAL DX CONTEST (SSB) ---> Object of the contest is  for  W/VE
amateurs to work as many stations in as many DXCC Entities  as  possible  on
160, 80, 40, 20, 15, and 10 metre bands, while DX stations  (also  including
KH6, KL7, CY9 and CY0) work as many W/VE amateurs  in  as  many  of  the  48
contiguous states and provinces as possible (complete rules can be found  at
http://www.arrl.org/arrl-dx).  This year's event will be held  on  2-3 March
(00.00-23.59 UTC).  Give  a  look   at  the  Announced  Operations   listing

IOTA HONOUR ROLL ---> The 2019 Honour Roll  and  Annual Listings  have  been
posted on the  IOTA  website https://iota-world.org/: click  on  PERFORMANCE
LISTINGS  in the  dropdown menu under  PROGRAMME INFORMATION.  They show the
position as at 31 January 2019.
The Honour Roll  lists  the  stations  with  a  checked  score  equalling or
exceeding 50% of the  total of  numbered  IOTA groups, excluding those  with
provisional  numbers, at the time  of preparation.  The Annual Listing lists
the stations with a checked score of 100 or more  IOTA groups but  less than
the qualifying threshold for entry into the Honour Roll.
IOTA rules limit inclusion  in the listings to  those participants  who have
updated  their scores  at least once in the preceding five years (i.e. since
February 2014) and have opted to have their scores published.

WRTC 2018 ---> Produced by DM6WAN  and his team,  "WRTC 2018 - Der Film"  is
the official video of the 8th World Radiosport Team Championship  that  took
place in Germany on 12-16 July 2018.  It is available on either  YouTube and
Vimeo (https://vimeo.com/317408827).

WSJT-X 2.0.1 ---> The  General Availability (GA)  release of  WSJT-X Version
2.0.1. has been available for download since 25 February.  This is a bug-fix
release including  repairs of defects reported up to  22 February.  Links to

+ SILENT KEY + Kresimir "Kreso" Kovarik, 9A5K passed away on 27 February. He
was born in 1974.  Past President of the  Croatian Amateur Radio Association
(HRS) and Vice Chairman of the IARU Region 1 HF Committee, he was the author
of DXlog.net and a competitor in  three  World Radiosport Team Championships
(2006, 2014 and 2018).
