E5_sc - Hrane, YT5A (ex YT1AD, https://www.yt1ad.info/) will be active hol-
iday style as E51A from Rarotonga (OC-013), South Cook Islands on
14-22 November. His is main objective will be to prepare for an
all-band all-mode DXpedition to the North Cook Islands planned for
25 September-10 October 2027 (anyone interested in joining this op-
eration can contact Hrane at yt5a[@]yahoo.com). [TNX YT5A]
FW - Jacek, SP9FIH is active as FW1P from Wallis Island (OC-054) until
         17 October. He operates mainly FT8, on 80, 20, 15 and 10 metres so
far. Due to limited luggage allowance and space constraints at his
location, he uses the same telescopic mast support for 40, 60, and
80 metres. As a result, he has to rebuild the antenna configuration
every week: he will use 80m until 2 October, 40m on 2-12 October,
and 60m on 12-16 October. QSL via Club Log's OQRS (preferred). See
         https://fw.dxpeditions.org/ for updates.
HC - Renato, PY8WW will be active as HD4W from Cojimies Island (SA-056),
in the Esmeraldas Province of Ecuador, on 15-22 November. He will
operate SSB, CW and FT8 ("when propagation conditions require digi-
tal operation") on 40-6 metres. QSL via Club Log's OQRS. See
         https://www.qrz.com/db/HD4W for more information.
JA - Tak, JR1LZK/6 and Mitsu, JE1HXZ/6 will be active from Iriomote Is-
land (AS-024) on 7-14 October. They will operate CW, SSB, RTTY and
FT8 on 160-6 metres. QSLs via LoTW, or direct to home calls. [TNX
         DX World]
JW - Usually based in Longyearbyen, Anna, JW5MUA is now active from Bear
Island (EU-027) until December. This is Svalbard DXCC wise, but a
separate counter/multiplier for the DX Marathon and CQ contests.
She operates SSB on 40 and 20 metres using 5-10 watts. QSOs will be
uploaded to LoTW and Club Log. [TNX The Daily DX]
JW - Look for JW7XK (QSL via LA7XK, Club Log's OQRS and LoTW), JW9DL
(QSL via LA9DL, Club Log's OQRS and LoTW) and JW6VM (QSL via LA6VM)
to be active from the Svalbard Amatorradioklubb in Longyearbyen
(EU-026), Svalbard on 7-12 October. They will participate in the
Scandinavian Activity Contest (SSB) as JW5X (QSL via Club Log's
OQRS, LoTW, or via LA5X). Outside the contest, usually JW9DL is
mostly active on FT8 and FT4, JW6VM on CW, and JW7XK via satellite
         (RS-44).
ON - The ONZ Oostkust Radioclub (ON6HC) will be active on all bands and
modes as OR82CLM between 16 October and 15 November to commemorate
the 82nd anniversary of the liberation of the region of Knokke-
Heist by Canadian troops in 1944. QSL via eQSL. A certificate will
         be available: https://www.onz.be/or82clm-award-request/.
PJ4 - Olli, DH8BQA will be active as PJ4/DH8BQA and PJ4Y (contest call-
sign) from Bonaire (SA-006) on 10-27 October. QSL via Club Log's
         OQRS and LoTW.
TF - Ed, VA3ITA will be active as TF/VA3ITA from Grindavik, Iceland
(EU-021) on 8-12 October. He will operate SSB and digital modes on
40-10 metres, and will participate in the Scandinavian Activity
Contest. QSL via LoTW, or via IZ7ATN.
W - Special event stations N0F, N1F, N2F, N3F, N4F, N5F, N6F, N7F, N8F
and N9F, plus KF2IRE and VE3FIRE (Canada) will be active on 4-10
October for the Fire Prevention Week 2026. See https://hamfire.com/
for more information on the event and the certificate. QSL cards
for any of the stations should be sent direct to Fire Prevention
Week Special Event, c/o Dr. Bob Lightner, W.T. Loften High School
ARC, 3000 East University Avenue, Gainesville FL 32641, USA.
ZA - John, AE5X will be active holiday style as ZA/AE5X from various lo-
cations in Albania on 8-30 October. He plans "to activate as many
of the 8 parks that will be in our vicinity as possible, and to op-
erate from the grounds of the old Radio Tirana shortwave transmit-
ter site". He will operate CW only on 20-10 metres with 10 watts.

JARL WW RTTY CONTEST ---> Starting in 2026, the Japan Amateur Radio League
will officially take over the JARTS Worldwide RTTY Contest, which has been
held for 34 years, and will host it as the "JARL World Wide RTTY Contest".
The first edition will take place on 17-18 October; complete rules are at
https://www.jarl.org/English/4_Library/ ... es_en.html.

RI1FJZ ---> Due to deteriorating weather conditions and icing on the yacht
caused by strong winds and freezing rain, the captain insisted on an early
departure from Franz Josef Land. Consequently, the RI1FJZ team departed on
25 September, unable to extend their stay as originally hoped. The "Apostol
Andrey" is returning to Arkhangelsk instead of Murmansk, with an estimated
arrival date of 3 October.
During their operation at the base on Alexandra Land, the team faced severe
power supply restrictions. Only one of two promised 14 kW generators was
functional, and use was limited to a few hours twice daily to recharge bat-
teries. Solar charging yielded minimal power due to the lack of sunlight,
and modifying the power system was strictly prohibited. As a result, the
team operated at 5-6 kW when the generator was running, and reduced power to
3 kW when relying on battery storage.
Furthermore, outdoor activity to set up antennas was strictly constrained to
daylight hours in favorable weather and required the presence of one of the
base's two inspectors, particularly due to hungry bears roaming the area.
The team generally heard other stations better than they were heard. Al-
though they fell short of their total contact goals, they consider the over-
all result successful given the harsh circumstances.
All logs have been uploaded to Club Log, with the exception of QO-100 QSOs,
which will be uploaded at the earliest opportunity.

WRTC 2026 ---> The WRTC 2026 Award Ceremony will be held at the Istra Con-
test Conference in Croatia on 3 October at 16:30 UTC. It will be followed by
the announcement of the WRTC 2030 host location. Tune in to the live broad-
cast on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@WRTC2026

YOUTH WORLD WIDE AWARD 2026 ---> Building on three years of organizing the
World Wide Award (WWA), the team launched Youth WWA - an international radio
project designed to unite young operators globally through a single award
event. To participate as a Youth Activator, licensed radio amateurs must be
25 years old or younger. The Youth WWA takes place on 5-11 October. See
https://hamaward.cloud/wwayouth for complete information.
