[TNX The Daily DX] 4X - The "Land of Craters" programme sees four special stations operate from the Makhteshim ("craters") in the Negev desert of Israel. The first three activities were conducted by 4X0ARF (November 2020), 4X0GDL (April-May 2021) and 4X0KTN (November 2021) Look for 4X0RMN to be QRV from Makhtesh Ramon (Ramon Crater), Israel's largest national park, on 13-14 May. Activity will be on 80-10 metres CW, SSB and FT8, and the QO-100 satellite SSB and CW. QSL via 4X6ZM (direct or bureau), LoTW and eQSL. A certificate will be available for working 3 out of 4 stations: see https://www.iarc.org/craters/. [TNX 4X6ZM] EA - Representing the three provinces of Aragon, special callsigns EG2SJH (Huesca), EG2SJT (Teruel), and EG2SJZ (Zaragoza) will be activated on 23 April to celebrate Day of Aragon and the name-day of San Jorge (St. George, Aragon's patron saint). QSL via the bureau. F - Special callsign TM2IF will be activated between 22 April and 13 June as a tribute to Jose-Antonio Gurutzarri "Guru" Jauregi, EA2IF. An outstanding personality of the Summits On The Air programme, he passed away on 11 March aged only 57. QSL via eQSL, paper QSLs will not be available. HK0 - Renato, PY8WW will be active as HK0/PY8WW from San Andres Island (NA-033) on 7-12 May. He plans to be QRV on 40-6 metres, with a focus on the Magic Band. QSL via home call. I - II1WRTC, II2WRTC, II3WRTC, II4WRTC, II5WRTC, II6WRTC, II7WRTC, II8WRTC, II9WRTC, II0WRTC, IR1WRTC and IO0WRTC (Sardinia) are the special callsigns being activated until the end of the IARU HF Championship (10 July at 11.59 UTC) to promote the World Radio- sport Team Championship to be held in Italy in July 2023 [425DXN 1600]. See https://www.wrtc2022.it/en/wrtc2022-award-19.asp for the certificate. Operations started on 1 January; 102 days later, on 12 April at 14.03 UTC, the 1,000,000th QSO was made with AB4SF. An application has been filed with Guinness World Records for "the fastest one million amateur radio contacts by an organization". I - Alex, IK8YFU will be active as ID9/IK8YFU from Lipari Island (EU- 017) on 21-25 April. He will operate SSB and FT8 on the HF bands. QSL via LoTW or direct to home call. [TNX DX World] I - Look for IY0CG, IY0GA (Sardinia), IY0IMD, IY0ORP, IY0TC, IY1MR, IY1SM, IY1SP, IY1TO, IY4FGM, IY5PIS, IY6GM and IY7M to be active during the International Marconi Day (23 April). These stations are affiliated to the "Coordinamento Stazioni Marconiane Italiane" ( http://csmi.altervista.org/wp/), which gathers amateur radio stations operating from historic Marco- ni sites located in Italy. [TNX DX World] LU_ant - The Argentinian icebreaker "Almirante Irizar" (LU2AIB) will stop at General San Martin Base on Barry Island, Antarctica (AN-016) for four days. Crew member Claudio, LU3DCK expects to go ashore and be active as LU1ZD between 15 and 18 April. QSL direct to LU4DXU. OE - Special event station OE22M will be active to commemorate the an- niversary of Guglielmo Marconi's birth (25 April 1874) and take part in the International Marconi Day (23 April). INTERNATIONAL MARCONI DAY ---> Organized by the Cornish Radio Amateur Club, the International Marconi Day (IMD) is a 24-hour amateur radio event held annually to celebrate the birth of Guglielmo Marconi (25 April 1874). It is not a contest, but an opportunity for amateurs around the world to make contacts with historic Marconi sites using HF communications techniques. This year's event will be held on 23 April, from 00.00 UTC to 23.59 UTC. Details, including information on the Award Certificates and the listing of participating stations, can be found at http://gx4crc.com/. NCDXF DXCELLENCE AWARD ---> Created in April 2021, the Northern California DX Foundation's "DXcellence Award" is awarded to the "outstanding DXpedition of the last twelve month, which received funding from NCDXF. The award is intended to recognize excellence in a DXpedition, exemplified by practices, ethics, management, transparency, impact upon the DXing community, and last- ly exhibited fun! The winner of the award is determined by the NCDXF Board of Directors. The board considers several factors, including performance, complexity of the DXpedition, impact on Club Log most wanted ranking . Espe- cially important are activities associated with humanitarian and education". The first DXcellence Award has been conferred on the S9OK DXpedition to Sao Tome (October 2021): "their team did a terrific job, and after contact with Zorro, JH1AJT, planned a visit to the local schools. Useful gifts were given to the children for the classrooms and the children's response was joy and happiness". NCDXF OFFICERS ---> The 2022-23 officers for the Northern California DX Foundation were voted in on 11 April. The new roster of officers is Kevin Rowett K6TD (President), Craig Thompson K9CT (Vice President), Glenn Johnson W0GJ (Secretary) and Don Greenbaum N1DG (Treasurer). The current Directors are Tom Berson ND2T, Lee Finkel KY7M, Ross Forbes K6GFJ, John Miller K6MM, Rich Seifert KE1B, Ned Stearns AA7A and George Wallner AA7JV. The primary purpose of NCDXF ( https://www.ncdxf.org/) is to help fund well- organized DXpeditions to desirable DXCC Entities, and to support advances in DXpeditioning skills, technology and infrastructure. Those funds come from the contributions of supporters in the DX community, who "help make DX hap- pen". In addition, NCDXF provides scholarships to Contest University for those 25 years of age and under; partners with IARU to operate the NCDXF Beacon System worldwide; supports the World Radio Team Championship.
