[TNX IZ3EBA] 3Y0J: LATEST NEWS ---> "We're preparing for a tiered approach where we will go onshore even during a very short weather window", Ken, LA7GIA posted to Facebook on 25 February. "The short weather window will allow us to bring onshore a single generator, antennas and 5 radios and tent for certain peri- od. The first landing will of course also include necessary food, water, heating and safety equipment for this period. After that the next zodiac runs will continue supplying another generator, more antennas, more fuel, radios, spare parts etc. As soon as we have the second generator onshore Cape Fie this will be a full-scale DXpedition. We have prepared this high level approach of how to sequence the equipment and soon this will material- ize into a very detailed plan of exactly what equipment is being loaded in what sequence. It means that we don't need a half day or full day of nice weather to start operating - we will do that even for very short weather windows down to 90-120 minutes". The amateur radio service is about self-instruction in communications and friendship between people". * The operators of the DX Summit have removed the Ukrainian callsigns as amateur radio has been suspended in the country since the 24 February de- claration of a state of emergency. Moreover, as "DX Summit wants to avoid being an advertising medium for war and war related messages of any kind, we see it reasonable to block out all cluster posted messages related to this unfortunate event". In addition, they have also blocked callsigns and messages posted by operators from Russia, Belarus and Donetsk. * QRZ has removed - not deleted from the dbase, though - Russian (and Bela- rusian) callsigns. AA7BQ's sticky post explains the reasoning behind this decision: https://forums.qrz.com/index.php?forums ... ussions.13 * On 3 March, Soyuz Radiolyubitelei Rossii (the Russian Amateur Radio Union) posted an appeal to the International Amateur Radio Union and its national member societies. "Each of us off the air can give our own assessment of what is currently happening in Ukraine, but it is today that we can and must demonstrate to the public that radio amateurs are a community of people who treat each other with respect, regardless of political beliefs, religion, or nationality": https://srr.ru/category/v-prezidiume-srr/ has the complete text (in Russian), or read the translation on DX World. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- QSLs received direct or through managers: 3B8CW, 3B8M, 3DA0RU, 3X2021, 4J3DJ, 4L1AN, 4O3B, 5I4ZZ, 5I5TT, 5W1SA, 5Z4/HB9DSP, 7P8RU, 9N7AA, A52CC, A65DR, BW2/JP1RIW, D60AB, E20AX,p (AS-125), EA9KB, ES5TTT, FK8CE, FK8DD, FK8HA, FK8HM, HI3AA, HP3SS, HS0ZDK, HS0ZLE, IA0/IZ1KHY, J79SB, J79WTA, JD1BHA, JD1BMH, KH2L, KL0R, KL7RA, KL7SB, NP2AR, OD5ZZ, OQ60ANT, P4/DL4MM, RI60ANT, S21DX (AS-140), S79VU, SU9VB, SV2RSG/A, TM57HNY, TM57STN, VK9DX, VO1GO, VO2MK, VP9KD, VU2TMP, XV1X, YJ8RN, ZB2R, ZP9MCE, ZS1OPB, ZS6BNS, ZS6TQ, ZS6TVB, ZS6US. **************************************************************************** 425 DX NEWS HOME PAGE: https://www.425dxn.org/ **************************************************************************** 425 DX News is a free of charge weekly bulletin edited by Mauro Pregliasco, I1JQJ and Valeria Pregliasco, IK1ADH Its contents may be used, reproduced and distributed in part or full provided that "425 DX News" or "425DXN" receive proper credit Contributors are invited to send their DX information to Mauro Pregliasco, I1JQJ ( [email protected]) The deadline is 12 UTC on Fridays **************************************************************************** Direttore Responsabile Gabriele Villa, I2VGW Giornalista Professionista - Tessera n. 071675 Ordine Nazionale dei Giornalisti Roma, Italia ****************************************************************************
