6Y - Don, M0CVZ will be active holiday style as 6Y5DH from Jamaica (NA-
097) on 10-30 September. He will operate SSB on 40, 20, 17, 12 and
10 metres. QSL via Club Log and LoTW. [TNX The Daily DX]
A2 - Sajid, VA3QY will be active as A22EW from his homeland of Botswana
from 16 September to 8 October. He will be QRV on 20-10 metres and
maybe 6m. QSL via eQSL.
F - Special callsigns to be active at various times during the 2023
Rugby World Cup hosted by France from 8 September to 28 October
include TM23RBY (QSL via F8EFU and LoTW), TM23RUGB (QSL via F5KHG),
and TM63RWC (QSL via F4KLW).
I - Six ARI Monte Grappa members (IK3BSM, IK3QEZ, IU3FBL, IU3GJD,
IU3QNW and IZ3ZBP) will be active as IQ3RP/3 from Fisolo Island
(EU-131) on 16 September. They will operate mainly SSB on 40m.
LZ - LZ19HST is the special event station for the 19th IARU World High
Speed Telegraphy Championship to be held in Primorsko, Bulgaria on
9-13 September. QSL via the bureau to LZ1BJ.
OZ - Special event stations OZ18CHR (Denmark), OY18CHR (Faroe Islands)
and OX18CHR (Greenland) will be active on all bands and modes on 9-
15 October to celebrate the 18th birthday of HRH Prince Christian,
second in the line of succession to the Danish throne after his
father. QSL via Club Log's OQRS, LoTW and eQSL. A number of awards

SM - Previously active as SD7M/6 and SD7W/6 from Orust Island (EU-043)
[425DXN 1687], Gaby, DF9TM and Frank, DL2SWW will be QRV as SD7M
and SD7W, respectively, from Oland Island (EU-037) on 7-17 Septem-
ber. They also have Sturko Island (EU-138) "in preparation". All
QSOs will be uploaded to Club Log and confirmed automatically via
the bureau.
SV - The Salamis Radio Amateurs Group will be active as SX480SNB on 16-
30 September. QSL via LoTW. The special callsign commemorates the
anniversary of the naval Battle of Salamis, fought in 480 BC be-
tween an alliance of Greek city-states under Themistocles, and the
Persian Empire under Xerxes the Great.
TF - George, K5KG and Charlie, K1XX will travel to Iceland and join the
TF3D Multi-Multi team that will participate in the SAC CW Contest
(16-17 September). Outside the contest, on 11-18 September, they
will be QRV as TF/K5KG and TF/K1XX. QSL via LoTW. [TNX NG3K]
V6 - Operating under their individual callsigns, a group from Japan will
be active from Weno Island (OC-011), Micronesia on 18-21 September:
V6AAA (QSL via LoTW), V6C (QSL direct to JH1NBN), V6WW (QSL direct
to JA2NQG), V6Z (QSL via LoTW), V63FM (QSL via JI2UAY), V63OS (QSL
via LoTW), V63SX (QSL via LoTW), V63VB (QSL via LoTW) and V63Z (QSL
via LoTW). Activity will be on 160 to 6 metres using CW, SSB, RTTY
and FT8.
V7 - V73AH is the callsign issued to Uli, DL2AH for his 4-16 October
operation from Majuro (OC-029), Marshall Islands [425DXN 1685]. He
will operate SSB and FT8 on 80-6 metres. QSL via LoTW, eQSL, or
direct to DL2AH.
W - Members of the Port City Amateur Radio Club (W1WQM) will be active
as K1W from White Island, Isles of Shoals (NA-217) on 16-25 Septem-
ber. QSL via K1RX.
XW - Patrick F2DX, Vincent F4BKV, Diego F4HAU, Pascal F5PTM, and Julien
F8AVK will be active as XW4DX from Laos on 16-27 November. Plans
are to operate SSB, CW and digital modes with up to five stations.
Their licence is only valid for 160, 40, 20, 17, 15, 12 and 10
metres. QSL via Club Log's OQRS (direct and bureau) and LoTW, or

YB - Gianpi, IK1TTD will be active holiday style as YB2/IK1TTD from
Pulau Menyawakan in the Karimunjawa Group on 8-22 October. He will
be QRV mainly on 20 metres. QSL via Club Log's OQRS (preferred), or
via home call. Please note that IOTA Management has provisionally
accepted Menyawakan as a new counter for OC-186, and will add it to
the IOTA Directory at the end of the operation.
ZA - Antonis, SV1ENG will be active holiday style as ZA/SV1ENG from
Lucove, Albania from 22 September to 1 October. Plans are to oper-
ate mostly CW, and possibly some SSB on 40-10 metres. QSL via Club

IOTA DXPEDITION FUND ---> IOTA Ltd has from 1 September 2023 established a
DXpedition Fund to help reduce the costs of expeditions to the rarer and
less accessible IOTA groups. Administered by the IOTA Board it will consider
making grants to operations from IOTA references confirmed by less than 25%
of IOTA members based on the last 10-year listing in IOTA's Most Wanted
List. The grant request should be submitted more than 30 days prior to the
operation's start. The evaluation and grant process is based on various
criteria, including the rarity of the IOTA reference, planned number of
stations on the air, of days operating, of contacts made, of bands and modes
used, QSL and QSO matching practice and estimated cost of the expedition

+ SILENT KEY + Pierre D. Tromp, ZS1HF passed away on 4 September. Born in
1962 and first licensed as ZR5KF in 1985, his activities from DX locations
included YI9HF from Iraq (2007), ZS8M from Marion Island (2010-11), and ZD9M
from Gough Island (2014).
